I love the convenience of journaling via your site, and was happy to be able to donate $10. I love the simplicity which allows me to log in and immediately start journaling on Monkkee, without first setting up several commands or pushing lots of buttons. There are plenty word processing tools made available, as well, so that my entries are organized and attractive. I deeply appreciate the save function. By autosaving, I’ve never lost a single written sentence, despite often walking away from my computer mid entry. And you organize entries in a clear and uncluttered manner. This is so much better than saving individual Word files for each journal entry. Thank you for the thought and work you’ve put into developing such a useful service.

After taking notes of my daily activities in a plain text file for almost two years, I discovered Monkkee, which does exactly what I was looking for: I can link entries between each other, include external links, group entries by topic (using Tags), include images to illustrate the results of my work… Wonderful! I use Monkkee all the time. Great for capturing websites and their images for reviewing later, however I think Monkkee only links the images, pulling the data from the specified webpage, so if the website disappears, so do the images.

Anyway, I still enjoy using Monkkee since it is secure, and I can access my data from anywhere, including my phone. Hoping this site doesn’t go away anytime soon, it is a valuable service and you can’t beat the price, if you decide to donate, which I did.

I used to use Penzu, but when I noticed a technical problem they asked to see one of the diary entries affected. Wanted to read one of my diary entries! WTF, I didn’t feel that was right, and realised that entries are not encrypted (it is possible to encrypt entries on Penzu, but it has to be done manually each time, which is not realistic). So I started hunting for something more secure, found Monkkee, and loved the concept, the way this has been done, and the way that donations is being used to raise funds (which I have done). But the best, is that the diary really does do everything I need, and does it really well. So thank you for creating this diary, and please, above else, keep it going 🙂

At first I was skeptical, but this site completely fulfils my long sought after no-string attached journaling solution I have been missing out. My only wish is that it would one day involve a simple export option that will allow me to transport all the contents easily to another medium without fear of losing my inserts. Love this site. I like your support too. Once I asked to fix a small issue in the export. The issue was promptly fixed. I don’t have many secrets in my life, so the security is not the primary reason I use this software. Actually, I regularly export everything to an HTML file and make a backup on Google Drive. Just in case. But I like the way this site is organized, it’s minimalism and simplicity. Great job, guys! Kudos.

Have used blogger, evernote, keep and a few other website as well. None of them is as secure and privacy focused as this one. If you would like to keep writing something to yourself. this should be the one. On top of that, you can even download your writings and export to your own PC. so there is a way out of it in case this website is no longer running.

The only thing at all that I’d add is a simple REST API to allow people like me to develop their own apps and clients and integrations, but that’s perhaps above and beyond a basic journaling tool. Still, maybe this donation will help make it possible in the future! 😉

I luv monkkee. Its perfect for me and the fact that it’s free and has great features and so easy to use. I had been using other journal sites that required an annual subscription that didn’t give me all that monkkee has given me for FREE. I love the clean, beautiful aesthetic of this site and the journal page. It allows me to write freely without the distraction of ugly colours, shapes, ads etc. It feels and looks beautiful when I write in here. I also love the language option for us non-US English writers and the fact that my journal is completely private. I can write whatever I like here and no one will ever find it. I think because of that complete privacy, I have been able to finally form a consistent writing habit which has been of tremendous benefit to me mentally and emotionally. I just started today & made a small donation while I figure out if this is a platform I love. So far, I really like it. I’m a middle aged teacher and sometimes I just need to VENT but I don’t really need all that toxicity out in the world. I don’t need to risk ruining relationships with coworkers/students/parents, family, or friends with a public blog or social media… Handwriting hurts my carpal tunnel… I’m hoping this venue will let me RAGE privately.

I love the simple interface and security of the monkkee site. Really one of the online tools I keep coming back to because it is so useful. I’ve been collecting my scattered hisorical journal entries and compiling them into one safe place here on monkkee. It organizes those entries so easily that I will be able to eventually have a journal compiled all in one place! For someone who believes in the power of journaling as I do, that’s a wonderful thing. I really like the no-nonsense approach of the site. What is really important in a private journal? Security, ease of use, accessibility, organization. All of these boxes are checked by the Monkkee. Just donated again, made a commitment to donate every six months. Why? Because I love monkkee, the clean design, no ads, so safe and secure, and no option to make posts public. Just a sweet little place to hang out online, de-stress, and organize my thoughts. Also like it is a small team, not a big corporation. Pretty nice just signed up. You should think about implementing a subscription model like FreeCodeCamp. Instead of a one-time payment, people should be able to sign up for a subscription where you can donate every month 5 euros(or whatever can you afford).

The service would be still free, but people who like it will be able to continually support it.

Great concept. I love the privacy. I would like to see import from Journey (which uses Google Drive as a backend), which I’m moving away from due to lack of security with the passcode option. I think import options would encourage more people like me to switch.

I’m a guy who hates paying for already successful overpriced products but loves paying for free products that truly deserve it and you guys are one of them. Happy to support you. It’d be nice if in the future you could have an automatic algorithm (to keep it all still secure) keep track of stats on our entries as some other online journals do, like average time spent writing, positive vs negative word-choice proportions, etc. In any case, keep it up!

I just got here yesterday and there are so many things to like with full privacy being the best. As I import entries from other places, I can change the date. I can run everything chronologically with the hash ta
