Announcement: The test limit for new monkkee users will be reduced to 30 entries

We want monkkee to remain available and continue to evolve over the long term. Running monkkee involves ongoing costs – including servers, storage, maintenance, and further development of the application. Revenue from licenses is therefore important to us so that we can continue operating monkkee while also investing in improvements.

For this reason, we will reduce the free test limit for new users from 50 to 30 diary entries.

Why are we changing the limit?

The free offering should continue to provide enough opportunity to get to know and try out monkkee. With 30 entries, you can get a good impression of monkkee and find out whether it is the right application for your digital diary.

At the same time, we want to make users who would like to use monkkee permanently aware of the option of purchasing a license at an earlier stage. A license not only allows you to continue using monkkee beyond the free test limit, but also helps support the ongoing operation and development of monkkee.

We depend on this revenue to operate monkkee sustainably and to have the resources needed for future improvements.

What does this mean for existing users?

For everyone who is already using monkkee, nothing will change for the time being.

The existing limit of 50 entries will remain in place for existing users until December 31, 2026.

This gives everyone enough time to prepare for the change. Starting January 1, 2027, the new limit of 30 entries will also apply to existing free accounts.

Our goal

With this change, we want to put monkkee on a sustainable foundation. We don't just want to keep monkkee running – we also want to continue improving and developing the application.

We understand that reducing the free limit will not be welcome news for everyone. At the same time, it is a necessary step to ensure that monkkee can continue to exist in the long term.
