New editor functions

In January we asked you which editor functions you would like us to implement. Many of you responded, and we thank all of you for your suggestions!

We have evaluated the results and have been able to translate most of your ideas and wishes into new functionalities. The toolbar now offers you even more possibilities to express yourself, be it through emoji, special characters, fonts or formatting functions. If you don’t see the new icons right away, just click on the arrow icon to display them temporarily or adjust your preferences under Settings -> Editor to display them permanently.

List of extensions

strike

If there’s something you don’t like, you can now cross it out for emphasis. I love ironing, for example.

justify

Align to the left, center, align to the right, justify. This common word processing feature is now also available in monkkee.

Great, isn’t it?

cite

To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether ’tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles

Whether you use this function to cite Shakespeare or insert email extracts is of course up to you.

horizontalrule

An easy way to separate one thing

from another.

specialcharacters

This is convenient if your keyboard lacks some desired accents and other special characters.

Example: He is so lovely, but sometimes just ¿¥ÿØ™¼!!!

smiley

The most wanted feature – monkkee can now laugh, cry or kiss.

smileys

font

Whether large or small, formal or playful, you can now personalise your journal entries in your favourite font.

removestyle

Want to quickly remove text styles and font formatting from some text? This function does just that.

Until then, have fun with the new functionalities!
